30 central univs, 8 IITs, 7 IIMs to be set up in 11th plan
Thirty central universities, eight new IITs, seven IIMs, ten new National Institute of Technology will be set up in the 11th five year plan, Lok Sabha was informed on Tuesday.

NEW DELHI: Thirty central universities, eight new IITs, seven IIMs, ten new National Institute of Technology will be set up in the 11th five year plan, Lok Sabha was informed on Tuesday.
Besides, three Indian Institute of Science Education and Research, 20 Indian Institute of Information Technology and two new schools of planning and architecture will be set up in the ensuing five year plan, Minister of State for Human Resource and Development D Purandeswari said in a written reply.
She said that a proposal to set up a university for Persons of Indian Origin by the Ministry of Overseas Indian Affairs is at a preliminary stage.
