Suntek sends Indian roses to Holland
The Rs 3-crore company has already tied-up with Soex Flora, a major rose producer and merchant exporter in India, for supply.
There���s more reason to cheer. A relationship is also budding between the Pune-based company that was set up by a group of classmates in 2006, and a Paris-based flora major, which operates 20 floral boutiques in France.
���We have already dispatched over 1 lakh stems of roses to the Netherlands on this Valentine, and have got business from Japan,��� says Seema Potdukhe, member of Suntek, and one of the girls from Satara Sainik School who set up the business barely two years ago.
The company expects revenues to grow more than 20% during this financial year. The average cost of producing one rose is about Rs 2, while it would fetch a price of Rs 10 to Rs 40 in the international market, depending on bud-size, colour and size of the flower.

Recently, it has also formed in-principle marketing tie-up with a Tamil Nadu-based player to market in the southern region.
