Rs 97.75 cr for development of 195 villages

Haryana Government will spend an amount of Rs 97.75 crore for the development of 195 villages of the state.

CHANDIGARH: Haryana Government will spend an amount of Rs 97.75 crore for the development of 195 villages of the state under the "Mukhyamantri Anusuchit Jaati Gram Uthan avam Malin Basti Vikas Yojna" formulated for socio-economic upliftment of the persons belonging to Scheduled Castes (SCs) during the next financial year.

While giving this information here today, Haryana Chief Parliamentary Secretary, Dharambir Singh said that under this scheme, an amount of Rs 50 lakh per village would be spent on speedy developmental works in next two years in the villages having more than 50 per cent SCs population. He informed that there were 391 villages in the state where the SCs population was more than 50 per cent.

Dharambir said that the work of Panchayati Raj Institutions (PRIs) were being computerized so that they could abide their constitutional and legislative responsibilities more dedicatedly. For this purpose, detail report of each village is being prepared.
