Kris Gopalakrishnan to co-chair World Economic Forum annual meet next month

NEW DELHI: Infosys Vice-Chairman Kris Gopalakrishnan will co-chair the World Economic Forum ( WEF) annual meeting next month in Switzerland.

Gopalakrishnan, also the President of Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), would be among the seven co-chairs of the meet, WEF said in a release today

'The Reshaping of the World: Consequences for Society, Politics and Business' would be the theme of the 2014 WEF meet, scheduled to be held at Davos from January 22-25.

Other co-chairs are Nigeria-based Dangote Group's President and CEO Aliko Dangote, Industrial and Commercial Bank of China's Chairman Jiang Jianqing, Switzerland-based Novartis' Joseph Jimenez, France-based Total's Chairman Christophe de Margerie, Yahoo! CEO Marissa Mayer and Rockfeller Foundation's President Judith Rodin.

Last month, WEF had renewed its partnership with CII and the next meeting of the forum's meet in India is likely in November, 2014.

WEF is an independent international organisation committed to improving the state of the world by engaging business, political, academic and other leaders.
