Global steel magnate L N Mittal on Sunday met West Bengal Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee and discussed opportunities of doing business in the state.

KOLKATA: Global steel magnate L N Mittal on Sunday met West Bengal Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee and discussed opportunities of doing business in the state.
After a meeting which lasted for more than an hour, Mittal told reporters here "I have come to introduce myself to the chief minister. This is my first meeting with him".
Asked what transpired, he said that nothing specific was discussed.
"We talked about the activity going on in the state...I am very impressed with Bhattacharjee," the President-CEO of ArcelorMittal said.
Asked whether land acquisition was discussed, he said it did not figure in the meeting but added that the chief minister did mention about the proposed petrochemical complex.
Mittal said he would talk with partner HPCL for any possible linkage of Bhatinda refinery with the complex here.
