After TRAI, COAI objects to new spectrum norms

NEW DELHI: Cellular Operators Association of India (COAI), the body representing all major GSM players, has joined TRAI and has accused the government of misinforming the courts on the issue of subscriber-linked spectrum allocation norms.

It said that while the DoT had told the telecom tribunal that the government was going by TRAI’s recommendations on the subscriber-linked spectrum allocation norms, in reality it was not doing so. In a communication to DoT, it has said that the new norms were not in consonance with the affidavit filed by DoT before the telecom tribunal.
