Suven Life Sciences receives first US product patent
Suven Life Sciences has received its first product patent from the US Patent Office.

MUMBAI: Suven Life Sciences has received its first product patent from the US Patent Office. The granted claims of the patent include the class of selective Serotonin receptor affinity compounds discovered by Suven and being developed as therapeutic agents.
According to the invention patent disclosure, the compounds are useful in the treatment of neuro-degenarative disorders like Alzheimer's, Parkinson, Schizophrenia and Huntington.
Suven has filed 29 product patent applications through PCT covering more than 145 countries. The company has filed its first investigational new drug application with DCGI to conduct clinical study on their developmental candidate SUVN-502 and several candidates are in discovery pipeline undergoing GLP pre-clinical studies.
"Suven Life Science is pleased by the issuance of this patent by US Patent office for our drug candidates that are being developed for CNS disorders which targets $18 billion potential market opportunity," said Venkat Jasti, CEO of Suven.
At 11:20 am, Suven Life Sciences shares were up 8.79 per cent at Rs 50.75 on BSE.
