Telcos reject Trai suggestion on AGR
Private telecom operators on Friday opposed Trai’s recommendation to include income earned from interest on refundable deposits from subscribers and property rent in their adjusted gross revenues (AGR).

NEW DELHI: Private telecom operators on Friday opposed Trai’s recommendation to include income earned from interest on refundable deposits from subscribers and property rent in their adjusted gross revenues (AGR).
At a hearing in Telecom Disputes Settlement and Appellate Tribunal, the Association of Unified Telecom Service Providers of India (AUSPI) protested Trai’s suggestion on including such income and termed it as against the growth of sector.
It also termed the income earned by companies on interest collected from the advance amount paid by subscribers during promotional schemes as negligible.
