"Meri condition bohot worse hai...": Himanshu Jangra breaks silence on 'Rs 370 ki biryani' row during Pranit More show, says story was 'improvised'
Himanshu Jangra expressed regret over his viral crowd-work segment, admitting his story was exaggerated for entertainment and apologizing for inappropriate language. The controversy led to his job loss and distress for his family. Comedian Pranit ...

In a joint video posted on Instagram by Jangra and his former employer, the Gurugram resident addressed the controversy that led to intense social media backlash and the loss of his job.
Jangra said that while he had dated a woman, the account he narrated during the show was not entirely factual. According to him, several elements of the story were improvised to fit the comedic atmosphere of the event.
He explained that he attended the show after watching similar crowd-work clips online, where audience members often shared personal experiences mixed with dark humour. Acknowledging that some of his language was inappropriate, Jangra issued an apology and said he never intended to offend anyone.
"I used certain words that I should not have used and I want to apologise for that. The story was told in an entertaining manner, and it did not reflect my actual mindset or intentions," he said.
Speaking about the fallout, Jangra revealed that the online criticism soon spread beyond social media and reached his hometown, causing distress to his family. He said his relatives and neighbours informed his parents about the controversy before he had a chance to explain the situation himself.
According to Jangra, his family called him home and questioned him about the incident. While his parents initially reprimanded him for his actions, they became deeply concerned after learning that he had lost his job because of the controversy.
He said seeing the impact on his family has left him with a strong sense of regret, adding that he often wonders why he chose to participate in the show in the first place.
Jangra clarified that his statement was not an attempt to gain sympathy but rather an effort to accept responsibility for his actions and learn from the experience.
The company that shared the video said in its caption that the conversation was intended to provide context and allow Jangra to present his side of the story. It stressed that hosting the discussion should not be interpreted as endorsing any of the statements or views expressed in the video and urged viewers to remain respectful and avoid online harassment.
Meanwhile, comedian Pranit More has also apologised publicly for his handling of the crowd-work interaction. In a video posted on Instagram on June 13, More admitted that he should have intervened when Jangra made offensive remarks.
More said he became carried away by the audience's reaction and acknowledged that allowing the comments to continue was a mistake. Calling it a lapse in judgement, he apologised to those who were hurt and accepted responsibility for giving the remarks a public platform.
The controversy has now drawn legal attention. Maharashtra Cyber has registered an FIR against More, Jangra, MBBS student Sejal Pawar and others over the alleged publication and circulation of obscene and objectionable content related to the comedy show.
The case has been filed under relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), 2023, as well as Section 67 of the Information Technology Act, 2000.
In a separate development, KEM Hospital and Medical College placed Pawar on 15 days of forced leave following a preliminary inquiry into another viral clip from the same event. The institution has also recommended the formation of a five-member committee to conduct a detailed investigation.
Earlier, Devendra Fadnavis said that while freedom of expression is important, it must be exercised responsibly and should not come at the cost of another person's dignity.
