Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday laid the foundation stone and inaugurated development projects worth over Rs 18,000 crore in Gujarat.

The projects were launched during an official event in the state as part of ongoing development initiatives.

The projects form part of a broader push to modernise infrastructure and support economic development across Gujarat, one of India’s key industrial and manufacturing hubs.

Addressing the gathering in Surat, PM Modi said the world is moving towards a green future and India is also forging ahead with the aim of achieving green growth.

He noted that “this is a challenging decade” marked by the coronavirus pandemic, wars and an energy crisis, which have collectively disturbed the global order.
