Karan Johar unfollows almost everyone from Bollywood, from Shah Rukh Khan to Kareena Kapoor, except Priyanka Chopra
Filmmaker Karan Johar has surprised fans by reportedly unfollowing numerous Bollywood celebrities and close friends on Instagram, including Shah Rukh Khan, Kajol, and Alia Bhatt. This sudden social media activity, which includes actors he launched...

Social media users noticed on Thursday that the director-producer had removed many prominent names from his following list, including Shah Rukh Khan, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Kajol, Malaika Arora, Manish Malhotra, Farah Khan, and Ananya Panday.
Karan Johar also appears to have unfollowed actors Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan, and Sidharth Malhotra, whom he launched in the 2012 film Student of the Year. Actor Kartik Aaryan, who is set to headline Dharma Productions’ upcoming film Naagzilla, is reportedly no longer on his following list either.
Interestingly, Priyanka Chopra Jonas continues to remain among the few celebrities Karan still follows on Instagram. Apart from her, the filmmaker is reportedly following only a limited number of accounts, including Dharma Productions CEO Apoorva Mehta and businessman Adar Poonawalla.
The sudden Instagram activity has left fans confused, especially because many of the celebrities he unfollowed had recently attended his 54th birthday celebration in Mumbai on May 25.
While the reason behind the apparent unfollow spree remains unclear, some netizens believe it could be linked to a technical glitch on Instagram and other Meta platforms. Recent reports of verified accounts temporarily disappearing and widespread outages have fueled speculation that the changes may not have been intentional.
Neither Karan Johar nor Meta has officially commented on the matter so far.
Karan Johar, one of Bollywood’s most influential filmmakers, began his career as an assistant director on Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge before making his directorial debut with Kuch Kuch Hota Hai in 1998. Over the years, he has directed and produced several successful films under Dharma Productions.
