It is not grand gestures, but small acts of compassion that really count. In a world obsessed with chasing success and self-interest, empathy and kindness can often take a backseat. But the true essence of humanity is how we treat others. Recently, Bollywood actor R Madhavan re-shared a heartfelt post on his Instagram Stories, featuring a thoughtful gesture by a delivery boy in Japan. The original video was posted on the social media platform by Delhi-based digital creator Rashi, who now lives in Japan.

Pizza delivery’s boy’s heartfelt gesture

The clip opened to Rashi talking about an incident that left her deeply moved. The digital creator revealed that she had ordered pizza through an online food delivery platform because she was feeling unwell. Rashi instructed the delivery executive to leave the order outside her door since she did not wish to interact with anyone, owing to her ill health.

When the food delivery order arrived, she was taken over by a sweet surprise. The food delivery agent had left the parcel on her porch, just as instructed. But what touched her even more was that he ensured the packed meal did not touch the ground. So, what the delivery boy did was place a cardboard stand on the porch and put the packaged pizza box on top of it, a gesture that instantly warmed her heart.

Digital creator gets emotional by thoughtful act

Rashi in the video explained that neither the restaurant nor the delivery partner was aware that she was sick and having a bad day. Despite that, they made sure to show kindness in a thoughtful way. ‘Someone I will never meet made sure that my food did not touch the ground,’ said the digital creator, adding that this simple act of consideration was the beauty of Japan.

Rashi concluded her emotional story recounting by stating that sometimes it is not the ‘big stuff’ that impresses you, but the small things that make your heart full. ‘It is even when no one is looking, people still care and even about something as small as pizza, it makes you feel you are at home,’ she said.
