Defence minister Rajnath Singh reiterated India's commitment to supporting Vietnam's defence modernisation and capacity enhancement initiatives under the bilateral defence cooperation framework during his official visit to the country. The visit included bilateral talks with Vietnam's Deputy PM and defence minister General Phan Van Giang.

Officials said ministers reviewed the growing defence partnership and discussed ways to further deepen cooperation in maritime security, defence industry, military training and regional stability. The two sides also exchanged views on regional and global security developments.
