A ferocious economic storm will hit ordinary people, small biz: Rahul Gandhi

New Delhi: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday warned that a "ferocious economic storm is looming" over India and it will hit ordinary people and small businesses. He claimed that industrialists like Gautam Adani and Mukesh Ambani would escape it because the structure built by Prime Minister Narendra Modi over the past 12 years was designed only for these businessmen.

"A ferocious economic storm is looming over our heads. In 12 years, what Modiji built as a structure - it was only for Adani and Ambani. And now, that very structure is about to come crashing down. The blow won't land on them; they have escape routes. The blow will land on you, on the youth, the poor, the middle class, the farmers, the labourers and the small traders who were never even part of that structure. Look around you. Are you part of that structure or a victim of that storm?" Gandhi said in a social media post.

Amid reports of the Trump administration dismissing criminal charges against Adani, Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge also accused Modi of burdening citizens with the second fuel price hike in four days while getting Adani relief from the US. "Robbing the common people and getting Adani relief from America, this is Modiji's compromised model," Kharge said on X. He accused BJP and the government of lacking vision to deal with the current economic challenges.
