Yogi meets Shah amid delay over PWD, other UP cabinet portfolios

Amid delay in portfolio allocation following the Cabinet expansion in Uttar Pradesh, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath met Union Home Minister Amit Shah here on Thursday. More than 100 hours after Adityanath expanded his Cabinet, suspense over portfolio allocation continues, with the Public Works Department (PWD) emerging as the biggest talking point between the state leadership and the BJP high command. The delay in distributing departments formed the backdrop of a key meeting between Adityanath and Shah at the latter's residence in Delhi, sources said. BJP sources said the central leadership is keen on assigning the influential PWD department to one of the newly inducted ministers.
