New Delhi: Union home minister Amit Shah on Thursday said the government is working towards reducing heat wave-related deaths and bring it to zero. Shah was speaking at an NDRF function in Uttar Pradesh's Ghaziabad.

He said under the leadership of PM Narendra Modi, India has not only worked towards disaster risk reduction but also moving towards zero casualty.

"Wherever prior information about disasters is available through forecasting and the meteorological department, the objective is to ensure protection of lives and property."
