"The amendment bill has fallen. They used an unconstitutional trick in the name of women to break the Constitution. India has seen it. INDIA has stopped it," he said in a post on X.

The defeat of the women's reservation bill marks a rare moment of parliamentary resistance for the INDIA bloc, which managed to deny the government the required two-thirds majority for passing the proposal. The final tally stood at 298 votes in favour and 230 against, which fell significantly short of the threshold needed for a constitutional amendment.
Due to Lok Sabha's rejection of the 131st Amendment, the related Delimitation Bill was also stalled.
The Centre, represented by Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju, expressed disappointment at the outcome, accusing the opposition parties of being "anti-women."
