The cricketer found himself trending once again, and eagle-eyed fans were quick enough to bring back his 'algorithm' explanation. Fans quickly began searching for who LizLaz is after netizens noted that Virat Kohli liked an old post featuring influencer LizLaz and photographer Advait Vaidya. Within minutes, screenshots began circulating, turning a small action into a viral moment and a full meme fest.

LizLaz, also known as Jennifer, is a German-South African travel vlogger and singer. She began trending in India after Virat Kohli allegedly liked one of her posts. LizLaz is known for authentic cultural storytelling, multilingual skills, and viral content like “Samosa Samosa" and has built a strong Indian fanbase. According to her Instagram bio, she is a vlogger and a singer based in Germany and has done her master's in Psychology.

Her viral track “Samosa Samosa,” reportedly written in 20 minutes, became a breakout moment.

A relatable video on surviving long Bengaluru traffic rides went viral, highlighting her knack for capturing hyper local moments. Meanwhile, her podcast comparing lifestyle differences between India and Germany also resonated with the Indian audiences.

Virat Kohli algorithm buzz

As soon as netizens pointed out that Virat Kohli allegedly liked one of LizLaz's picture on Instagram, they poked fun and shared comments on 'algorithm'. It is pertinent to note that former India captain had appeared to “like” a picture of actor and influencer Avneet Kaur in a lime green crop top and mini skirt, an action that did not go unnoticed by fans. To put the matter to rest, Kohli himself issued a clarification on Instagram Stories. “I'd like to clarify that while clearing my feed, it appears the algorithm may have mistakenly registered an interaction. There was absolutely no intent behind it. I request that no unnecessary assumptions be made. Thank you for your understanding,” he wrote.

After the LizLaz incident, fans again brought up the algorithm bid in the comment section. The reactions quickly flooded social media, with fans turning the moment into humour rather than controversy. One of them wrote, "Kohli liked this post on Instagram.
