Amitabh Bachchan explains why skipping work feels 'disturbing'
According to Forbes, Amitabh Bachchan’s net worth is estimated to be around Rs 1600 crore. However, for the 83-year-old star, financial security has not changed his approach to work. In a recent blog post, he opened up about how an unplanned, idle day affects him mentally. He admitted that a day without work feels unsettling, almost as if something is missing from his routine."A day that spelt ‘lazy’ .. no reason whatsoever .. just it seems disturbing to not be working each day .. and when you do not work each day according to a schedule .. the entire process of habit forming that pre seeded .. the day suddenly becomes a mystery of deeds, which normally would have worked in perfect unison," he said.
Explaining his thoughts further, Big B shared that his daily schedule has been shaped by years of discipline and habit. When that routine is disrupted, it creates a sense of imbalance. He suggested that without a structured plan, the day begins to feel unpredictable, and tasks that usually fall into place seem scattered. This lack of order, he noted, can make even simple things feel confusing.
The actor also spoke about the emotional impact of such days. He observed that when things don’t go as expected, it can lead to unnecessary stress. While some people may find peace in slowing down, he believes that for others, including himself, it can trigger anxiety. Amitabh Bachchan pointed out that living with this kind of unease is not healthy for either the mind or the body, and maintaining a routine helps him stay grounded.
