Rajpal Yadav has once again teamed up with Akshay Kumar for the much-awaited film Bhooth Bangla. Directed by Priyadarshan, the movie also features Paresh Rawal in a key role and is scheduled to release in theatres on April 10, 2026. The cast is currently busy promoting the film, and amid this, a video from one of their appearances has gone viral, drawing mixed reactions online.

The clip, which features Akshay Kumar posing with Priyanka Chahar Chaudhary, Ekta Kapoor and Kanika Mann, shows him asking Rajpal Yadav to move to the side during a photo for paps. While it appeared to be a casual moment, several social media users interpreted it as a slight, sparking debate about the interaction.

As the video went viral, Rajpal Yadav broke his silence and addressed the controversy. He offered clarity on what actually happened. Speaking about the moment, he explained that he had arrived a bit late and rushed into the frame, unintentionally standing in the middle. According to him, Akshay then suggested rearranging positions so that the women could stand in the centre, while the men took positions on either side.



The actor emphasised that the gesture was rooted in respect rather than disrespect. He pointed out, "This is actually the deep-rooted moral values of Akshay Paji... I don’t know what people thought from a distance. Actually, Akshay sir has this gesture that when there are three girls and two males, the three females are always in the middle, with one male on one side and the other male on the other side,"

For Rajpal, the incident was not controversial at all but rather a simple instance of adjusting positions during a crowded promotional event.

A bond built over the years

Beyond the viral moment, Rajpal Yadav also spoke about his long-standing relationship with Akshay Kumar. The two actors have worked together for decades, beginning with films like Mujhse Shaadi Karogi, and have since shared screen space in popular titles such as Hera Pheri, Bhagam Bhag, Bhool Bhulaiyaa and Khatta Meetha.

Looking back at their journey, Rajpal described their equation as one filled with mutual respect and camaraderie. He shared that "We must have shouted at each other ten times, rehearsed ten times... In life, he loves me, I love him, and I get inspired by him somewhere. We know each other’s acting, and we respect each other a lot,”
