Runtime locked at 232 minutes
Dhurandhar: The Revenge has been censored with an 'A' (adults only) certificate from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC), with an approved runtime of 232 minutes, or 3 hours and 52 minutes. The sequel is approximately 30 minutes longer than the first film, Dhurandhar, which had a runtime of around 214 minutes.

With this runtime, Dhurandhar: The Revenge is now the seventh longest Indian feature film of all time, behind Tamas (298 minutes), Thavamai Thavamirundhu (275 minutes), LOC: Kargil (255 minutes), Mera Naam Joker (248 minutes), Sangam (238 minutes), and Lagaan (233 minutes).
Separately, the Irish Censor Board has listed the film at 235 minutes and assigned it an 18 rating, indicating the film contains strong action sequences, violence, some harsh language, and brief scenes of mild nudity.
CBFC Certification: Adults Only
The CBFC has granted the film an 'A' certificate, the same classification as the original. The first film in the series, Dhurandhar, also received an adult certificate when it released in December 2025, per the Times of India. The 'A' rating restricts theatrical viewing to audiences aged 18 and above.
Release Date, Preview Shows and Occasion
Dhurandhar: The Revenge is scheduled for theatrical release on March 19, 2026, coinciding with Gudi Padwa, Ugadi, and Eid al-Fitr. Paid preview shows will be held from the evening of the day before its release.
In North America, the film will have a Wednesday, March 18 premiere across the US and Canada, a day ahead of its global release. Screenings will primarily take place on large-format screens with luxury seating, formats typically reserved for major Hollywood event films.
Pan-India Multilingual Release
Unlike the first part, Dhurandhar 2 will also release in Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada, following demand from audiences across regions, as confirmed by News18 and Deccan Herald. The original Dhurandhar was a Hindi-only theatrical release.
The worldwide release is planned in all five language versions; Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada, produced under Jio Studios and B62 Studios and directed by Aditya Dhar.
Cast and Production
The film stars Ranveer Singh as Hamza Ali Mazari / Jaskirat Singh Rangi, alongside Arjun Rampal as Major Iqbal, Sanjay Dutt as SP Chaudhary Aslam, R. Madhavan as Ajay Sanyal, Sara Arjun, Rakesh Bedi, Danish Pandor, and Gaurav Gera, with Akshaye Khanna appearing in a flashback role and Yami Gautam in a cameo.

Both films were shot back-to-back, with principal photography beginning in July 2024 in Bangkok, Thailand, and wrapping in October 2025, with additional filming in January and February 2026. Locations included Punjab, Chandigarh, Maharashtra, Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh, and Thailand.
Pre-Sale Numbers and Rights
Dhurandhar: The Revenge has crossed Rs 100 crore in advance bookings worldwide, with Rs 60 crore from India and Rs 60 crore from overseas markets, bringing the total advance sales to Rs 120 crore.
In India, the Hindi version dominates with 2.82 lakh tickets sold for Rs 13.70 crore, while paid previews have already generated Rs 37.31 crore. Overseas, the film has already crossed $5 million (Rs 46+ crore gross) for the opening weekend in North America, including $2.5 million (Rs 23.50 crore) from the opening day and premiere.
On the non-theatrical front, the digital streaming rights were acquired by JioHotstar for Rs 150 crore, replacing Netflix from the prequel, while the satellite rights were acquired by Star Gold for Rs 50 crore, as reported by Times of India
The Prequel's Box Office Record
The original Dhurandhar grossed Rs 1,056.62 crore in India and Rs 293.03 crore in other territories, for a worldwide total of Rs 1,349.65 crore, according to PVR Inox. It is the highest-grossing Indian film of 2025, the second highest-grossing Hindi film of all time, and the highest-grossing 'A'-certified Indian film ever.
