Salman Khan once made BB contestant Sambhavna Seth upset by asking her to lose weight
In the world of Bollywood, appearance standards have long been defined by strict and often unrealistic expectations. Physical perfection is frequently treated as a prerequisite for success, and the idea of maintaining a “size zero” body is widely glorified. Within such a culture, individuals who do not conform to these narrow ideals can sometimes feel excluded or overlooked. Sambhavna Seth, a popular performer from the Bhojpuri film industry and a former participant in Bigg Boss, recently opened up about a deeply emotional experience involving superstar Salman Khan.

During an interview with the digital platform Hauterfly, Sambhavna shared a moment from the past that left a lasting impression on her. She recounted how, when Salman Khan stepped in as the host of Bigg Boss beginning with its fourth season, former contestants from earlier editions were invited back to participate in special performances. Sambhavna was one of the artists who returned for the occasion, and she vividly remembered the interaction she had with the host during that time.

According to her recollection, Salman appreciated her stage performance and complimented her dancing skills. He also shared his contact details with her, encouraging her to stay in touch if she ever needed professional guidance or opportunities. For Sambhavna, this gesture felt encouraging, and it gave her hope that it might lead to potential work in the future. After some time passed, she gathered the courage to contact him and ask about possible roles or projects.

However, the conversation took an unexpected turn. When she reminded him about the possibility of work, his response focused instead on her physical appearance. He suggested that she should reduce some weight. Sambhavna explained that the remark caught her completely off guard. She felt as though the tone of the conversation shifted instantly, leaving her stunned. In that moment, she assured him that she could work on losing weight if that was necessary, though she personally did not believe she was overweight. She also reflected that when someone genuinely wants to offer an opportunity, body size should not become a deciding factor.

Despite the emotional impact of the incident, Sambhavna emphasised that her respect for Salman Khan remains intact. She still considers herself a long-time admirer of the actor and insists that she holds no resentment toward him. Nevertheless, the experience was painful for her at the time. She recalled leaving the location in tears, overwhelmed by disappointment while speaking on the phone with her husband, Avinash Dwivedi, during the drive from Lonavala back to Mumbai. Her distress was so intense that Avinash eventually came partway to meet her in Chembur to accompany her home.

Sambhavna also revealed that she had kept this episode private for many years. At the time it occurred, her parents were still alive, and she had imagined sharing exciting news with them if the opportunity had materialised. She had even hoped to surprise her father by telling him that Salman Khan had offered her a song or a project.

Determined not to give up, Sambhavna said she later worked on improving her fitness and appearance. Nearly a year later, after becoming slimmer, she tried reaching out again by sending him a message. Unfortunately, she never received a response. Reflecting on the experience, she explained that she does not believe in persistently chasing people for work. In her view, genuine opportunities come from those who truly wish to collaborate, and repeatedly calling or messaging someone can only end up irritating them rather than opening doors.
