Industrialist Harsh Goenka is known for his humorous social media posts. On Wednesday, he shared yet another witty post on social media platform X.

In the post, Goenka joked about how an Indian contractor beat Chinese and European competitors to secure a contract from US President Donald Trump.

The post read: “Donald Trump wanted to paint the White House. He called three contractors for quotes.

The Chinese guy quoted $3 million. The European guy quoted $7 million. The Indian guy quoted $10 million.

Trump asked the Chinese guy, ‘How did you quote $3 million?’

The Chinese guy replied, ‘$1 million for paint, $1 million for labour and $1 million profit.’

Trump then asked the European guy. He replied: ‘$3 million for paint, $2 million for labour and $2 million profit.’

Finally, Trump asked the Indian guy. He replied: ‘$4 million for you, $3 million for me, and we’ll give $3 million to the Chinese guy and ask him to paint it.’

The Indian guy got the contract.”

Reacting to the post, one X user quipped — in an apparent dig at Mukesh Ambani’s Reliance Industries — “100% that Indian contractor is Gujarati.”

The remark comes amid reports that US President Donald Trump said late Tuesday that Reliance Industries, led by Mukesh Ambani, will partner in building the first new oil refinery in the United States in 50 years — a $300 billion project planned at the Port of Brownsville in Texas.

“Today I am proud to announce that America First Refining is opening the FIRST new U.S. Oil Refinery in 50 YEARS in Brownsville, Texas,” Trump wrote, adding that the project represents a “historic $300 billion dollar deal.”

The refinery is expected to supply fuel to domestic markets while also boosting global energy exports from the United States. According to Trump, the project could create thousands of jobs and generate significant economic activity in South Texas.

However, Reliance Industries has not yet confirmed Trump’s claim.
