'Sometimes all it takes is one person’: Anand Mahindra salutes Dhiraj Jain, who converted his farmhouse to accommodate stranded Indians in Dubai

When flights across the Gulf were thrown into disarray due to the conflict in the Middle East, one Indian businessman decided to act instead of wait. Rajasthan-born Dhiraj Jain opened his sprawling farmhouse in Ajman to hundreds of stranded Indian travellers, offering a rare blend of hospitality, safety, and community. According to news agency AP, from beds and meals to cricket games and yoga sessions, his property transformed into a refuge, proving that compassion can bridge nations in times of crisis. With hotels at capacity and travellers unsure of their next move, Jain dispatched 11 vehicles across Dubai to bring those affected safely to his farmhouse. Guests arriving at the property found a well-organised setup, with tents, mattresses, and two large halls each accommodating 50 people. Families shared meals, tea, and stories, forging connections while awaiting their next flights.

Anand Mahindra praised Dhiraj Jain for his extraordinary act of kindness, highlighting how he opened his farmhouse to Indian families stranded in Dubai due to recent flight disruptions. Mahindra emphasised that Jain’s actions embody the timeless Indian value of “Atithi Devo Bhava,” showing that even a single person can restore faith in humanity. He applauded Jain’s initiative as a powerful reminder of the difference one individual can make in bringing people together and offering hope in challenging times.




Dhiraj Jain’s initiative has provided more than shelter—it has restored faith in human kindness. Over 200 individuals found temporary refuge, with every need attended to, from food and security to simple companionship. The act underscores the enduring Indian ethos of hospitality, demonstrating that even in global uncertainty, generosity knows no borders.

As per a video by Better India, a person can be seen showing how there were 2 halls, each accommodating 50 people. Dhiraj sent 11 vehicles across Dubai to help people reach his farmhouse, where he provided the stranded families with bed, food and safety. In a separate video shared by Dhiraj Jain, he showed that around 150 people have already left his farmhouse, while about 80 to 90 guests remain. The footage captures travelers practicing yoga on the open grounds, with plans for games and a communal dinner later, highlighting the sense of community and care that Jain has fostered for those stranded.
