Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis presents Budget 2026
Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis on Friday presented the state Budget 2026-27, becoming the first CM to do so. The state Budget came with major announcements for farmers and women as the Nagpur-based politician aims to make Maharashtra a $5 trillion economy by 2047.

Fadnavis announced a crop loan waiver of up to Rs 2 lakh for farmers with arrears up to September 2025. The Punyashlok Ahilyadevi Holkar Shetkari Karjmafi Yojna will benefit farmers, Fadnavis said, adding there will be a Rs 50,000 incentive for other eligible farmers who are regular in repayments of loans.

He also announced that Mukhyamantri Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana for women will continue, and the government will provide adequate funds for the scheme.


He dedicated the budget to the late NCP leader and former Maharashtra Deputy CM Ajit Pawar and announced that a memorial will be set up for Ajit Pawar, who died in an air crash near Baramati in January. He also promised concrete roads in villages with a population of over 1,000.
