Congress leader Rahul Gandhi took a jibe at Prime Minister Narendra Modi in his latest post on social media platform X, alleging that he did not attend the Parliament session because of cases linked to Epstein files and the recently concluded India-US trade deal.

"Your name, your minister's, and your friend's name appearing together in the Epstein files, being linked to such a vile criminal—this is shameful," he said in a message targeted to PM Modi.

Calling it 'shameful,' he reiterated his allegations over the India-US trade deal that the prime minister has sold out the country.

In an address during the Budget Session, the Congress leader had raised numerous allegations against the prime minister, including the inclusion of his name in Jeffrey Epstein files, unfair trade deal with US and favouring India's leading industrialists.

"You've handed over our country's data. You've wiped out the farmers. You've ruined the textile industry—this is shameful," the Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha added.

He further said, "The entire country knows that the ongoing case against Adani in America has kept you up at night—because it's a case against the BJP and your financial architecture. For 14 months, no action has been taken on it—this is shameful."

Rahul Gandhi repeated his claims on Modi doing whatever he deems appropriate for industrialists Anil Ambani and Adani.

"I and the lion-hearted warriors of the Congress Party will continue to defend the country—we won't retreat even an inch," Gandhi said.

Gandhi earlier claimed that with the trade deal with US, India is going to become a "data colony". He said the answer to why PM Modi agreed to a deal, where India gives so much and appears to get so little, and makes an "abject surrender" lies in the "grips" and "chokes" placed on him.

Time and again, Congress has alleged that the prime minister has "surrendered" before US President Donald Trump in agreeing to the deal, which, the opposition claimed, will "devastate" the livelihoods of crores of Indian farmers and sacrifice India's energy security, digital sovereignty and economic self-reliance.
