Addressing a public gathering alongside Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the prime minister said the scale and pace of execution reflected the BJP’s work culture.
“Once we lay the foundation stone, we ensure that the project is completed on time,” he said, adding that improved law and order and safer travel have strengthened public confidence and attracted investment to the region.

PM Modi reiterated his personal bond with Meerut, noting that he had launched his election campaigns for the 2014, 2019 and 2024 Lok Sabha polls from the city.
In addition, at the Shatabdi Nagar station, Modi flagged off the Meerut Metro and the Namo Bharat train before taking a metro ride to Meerut South station.
He dedicated the entire 82-km Delhi–Meerut Namo Bharat corridor to the nation, inaugurating the remaining sections of India’s first Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS).
The newly opened stretches include a 5-km section between Sarai Kale Khan and New Ashok Nagar in Delhi, and a 21-km section between Meerut South and Modipuram in Uttar Pradesh.

With a design speed of 180 kmph, Namo Bharat is India’s first regional rapid transit system, linking key urban centres such as Sahibabad, Ghaziabad, Modinagar and Meerut with Delhi.
The Sarai Kale Khan station, the originating point of the corridor, has been positioned as a major multi-modal hub, offering seamless connections to Hazrat Nizamuddin railway station, the Delhi Metro’s Pink Line, Veer Haqeeqat Rai ISBT and the Ring Road.
In Meerut, three new Namo Bharat stations, Shatabdi Nagar, Begumpul and Modipuram, were also commissioned.
