Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor are one of Bollywood's power couples. Since marrying Ranbir in 2022, Alia has often found her personal life under a digital microscope. From memes to endless commentary, the internet has rarely missed a moment to speculate about their relationship. However, the Gangubai Kathiawadi actress recently opened up about whether this online noise affects her marriage in any way.

Alia Bhatt talks about her marriage with Ranbir Kapoor

In a recent interview with Esquire India, Alia spoke candidly about how she and Ranbir remain largely untouched by social media noise. She explained that what circulates online feels disconnected from reality, as people tend to react to brief clips or isolated moments rather than the full picture. According to her, seven years of being together cannot be reduced to a few seconds of viral content.

Alia said that most memes and comments never even reach them. On the rare occasions they do, the couple often laughs them off. She added that she does not allow such opinions to affect her emotional space, suggesting that even a hint of worry about online reactions doesn’t enter their daily life.

Drawing an analogy, Alia compared social media opinions to unspoken thoughts in a crowded room. She said people have always had judgments and assumptions, but earlier, there was no platform to broadcast them instantly. The difference today, she noted, is amplification, not reality. She stressed that her personal life, family equation and sense of happiness remain unchanged despite the constant buzz online.

When asked about what “home” means to her, Alia chose to describe it in simple, grounded terms. Instead of romance or grandeur, she spoke about safety. She explained that being around family creates a sense of protection, where the instinct to constantly stay alert or guarded fades away. In that space, she said, time flows more gently and life feels stable.

This sense of emotional security, Alia suggested, answers much of the speculation around her marriage. She made it clear that she does not feel the need to defend her relationship publicly because, for her, the truth is uncomplicated. Feeling safe, she said, is the most important thing in life, and family provides that reassurance.

Actress shares how Ranbir Kapoor is as father

Alia also opened up about parenthood and how it has added a new dimension to her relationship with Ranbir. She revealed that she always believed he would be an involved and responsible father, as they had spoken about their expectations long before becoming parents. However, what surprised her was his emotional sensitivity.

According to Alia, Ranbir is far more expressive at home than people might assume. While he may come across as reserved in public, she said he becomes openly affectionate and joyful around their child, almost rediscovering his own childhood in the process.

On the professional front, Alia and Ranbir are set to reunite on screen in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s upcoming film Love and War, which also stars Vicky Kaushal. Alia also has YRF’s spy thriller Alpha lined up and continues to grow her production house along with sister Shaheen Bhatt.
