Border 2 box office collection: Sunny Deol starrer stays strong on Republic Day, crosses Rs 250 crore worldwide on day 4

Bollywood seems to have finally found its first major success of 2026, and it has arrived in the form of Border 2. The Sunny Deol-led war action film has continued its strong theatrical run, showing impressive growth over the Republic Day weekend. Directed by Anurag Singh, Border 2 opened to encouraging numbers and quickly gained momentum over its first weekend. Within just three days of its release, the film entered the Rs 150 crore club in India, a milestone that many recent releases failed to reach. The upward trend continued as the Republic Day holiday gave collections a further boost.

Border 2 box office collection day-wise

According to industry tracker Sacnilk, Border 2 witnessed a significant jump of 49.32 per cent on day three, earning Rs 54.5 crore. Trade estimates suggest that the national holiday worked strongly in the film’s favour, with early numbers indicating a collection of around Rs 56 crore on Monday. With this, the film’s total India nett collection now stands at approximately Rs 177 crore, placing it firmly among the year’s biggest openers so far.




The film’s success is not limited to the domestic market. Border 2 has also crossed the Rs 250 crore mark at the worldwide box office by day four, underlining its strong appeal among overseas audiences as well. This achievement has helped the film outperform recent big releases such as Ranveer Singh’s Dhurandhar and Vicky Kaushal’s Chhaava in terms of opening performance. For context, Chhaava had collected Rs 121.43 crore in its opening weekend, while Dhurandhar had minted Rs 106.50 crore during the same period.

Set against the backdrop of the 1971 India-Pakistan War, Border 2 draws inspiration from real-life events and focuses on the coordinated efforts of the Indian Army, Navy and Air Force. Sunny Deol reprises the role of a resolute and commanding soldier, while Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh and Ahan Shetty play key roles alongside him.

Despite its impressive run, Border 2 has not yet surpassed the opening performance of Sunny Deol’s previous blockbuster, Gadar 2. With patriotic emotions, familiar themes, and strong box office numbers working in its favour, Border 2 appears well on its way to a successful theatrical journey.
