How Priyanka Chopra's stardom impact brother Siddharth
After winning the Miss World crown in 2000, Priyanka Chopra found herself flooded with film offers. However, contrary to popular belief, acting was not her first choice. Madhu Chopra has earlier revealed that Priyanka was academically inclined and hesitant about joining the film industry. She recalled that her daughter was so unsure about acting that she cried while signing her first film contract for Thamizhan, where she starred opposite Tamil actor Vijay. According to Madhu, there were "big tears on the paper".
As Priyanka slowly stepped into films, Madhu decided to travel with her teenage daughter to help her navigate the early days of the industry. This meant constantly being on the move, accompanying an 18-year-old Priyanka to shoots, meetings and events. While this support proved crucial for Priyanka’s career, it came at a cost back home.
During this period, Priyanka’s younger brother Siddharth Chopra was largely left on his own. With their father, Dr Ashok Chopra, busy with his work as a doctor, Siddharth often had to manage without consistent parental presence. Looking back at the phase, Madhu has described her son as the “collateral damage” of Priyanka’s success.
The emotional weight of that period was evident when Madhu spoke about her son’s present-day struggles. She shared that even now, she sees Siddharth “struggling every day.” Despite Siddharth getting married in 2024, Madhu said the impact of growing up without enough parental guidance still lingers. She added that life has taught her to count her blessings, noting that she feels grateful to have two children who love and care for her.
The bond between Priyanka and Siddharth
In another interview, this time on Dr Stuti Khare Shukla’s YouTube channel, Madhu also spoke about the contrasting personalities of her two children. She revealed that Priyanka inherited her disciplined nature, especially when it comes to work. While Madhu described herself as an early riser, she noted that Priyanka would wake up as early as 4 am if her work demanded it. Siddharth, on the other hand, follows a more relaxed routine, though he too maintains structure in his day.Meanwhile, on the professional front, Priyanka Chopra shows no signs of slowing down. Apart from The Bluff, which is set to release on Prime Video in 2026, she also has Hollywood projects like Judgment Day lined up. Closer home, she is all set to make a grand return to Indian cinema with SS Rajamouli’s much-talked-about film Varanasi, starring Mahesh Babu and Prithviraj Sukumaran.
