The young fast bowler shared how, after drenching Kohli in champagne during celebrations, he found himself in a slightly awkward situation inside the dressing room when meeting Anushka Sharma for the first time. Rana recounted that upon entering the dressing room, he instinctively addressed Anushka Sharma as “ma'am” since it was their first meeting. Virat Kohli immediately teased him, asking why he was being so formal and suggesting that he call her “bhabhi” instead. When Rana explained it was his first meeting, Kohli turned to Anushka and pointed out the contrast, joking about how Rana had drenched him outside but was suddenly so formal in the dressing room. Rana emphasised that the moment showed Kohli’s fun-loving nature and how he enjoys playful interactions with teammates.

It’s notable that Harshit Rana made his international debut during the Border-Gavaskar Trophy series in 2024, earning the opportunity to play alongside Kohli during his final tour.
