Aamir Khan-backed spy comedy Happy Patel: Khatarnak Jasoos has finally hit theatres, and the film has opened to a steady response at the box office on its first day. Released on January 16, the film arrived with modest expectations, positioning itself as an urban, content-driven entertainer rather than a typical star-led spectacle. Early trade estimates suggest that Happy Patel has managed a respectable start, especially considering its niche appeal and low-key promotional strategy.

According to early estimates by Sacnilk.com, the film minted Rs 1.25 crore on day 1 only. Directed by actor-comedian Vir Das in his debut outing behind the camera, Happy Patel leans heavily into satire and black humour. Das also plays the lead role, while Aamir Khan appears in a special cameo. The film further marks the return of Imran Khan to acting after nearly a decade, with his unconventional look becoming a talking point even before release.



However, Dhurandhar continues to hold steady at the box office, collecting around Rs 3 crore on Thursday, helped by the festival holiday. The film is expected to add more than Rs 1 crore on Friday as well. In contrast, Prabhas’ The Raja Saab has struggled to perform, particularly in the Hindi market.
