Lalu's pari-war deepens as daughter Rohini Acharya urges Nitish Kumar to ensure ‘safe parental homes’ for women
Lalu Prasad's daughter Rohini Acharya has spoken out about family issues. She is urging the Bihar government to make sure women feel safe at home. Acharya believes current government schemes are not enough. She says societal and political changes ...

In her message, she indirectly acknowledged Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s schemes—such as giving Rs 10,000 to women and providing bicycles to schoolgirls—but argued that such initiatives fall short of creating meaningful change. According to Rohini, Bihar’s entrenched patriarchal attitudes demand transformations at both societal and political levels.
"Every daughter has the right to grow up with the assurance that her parental home is a safe place, where she can return without fear, guilt, shame, or having to explain herself to anyone," she wrote on X, adding that enforcing this principle is not merely an "administrative duty" but essential to protecting countless women from future abuse and mistreatment.
Her remarks come weeks after she resigned from the RJD and publicly severed ties with her family, reportedly following a heated confrontation—allegedly with her brother Tejashwi Yadav—over the party’s poor performance in the assembly elections. She had also claimed she was accused of donating a "dirty kidney" to her father after "extracting crores of rupees and a Lok Sabha ticket".
