NC's Farooq urges party unity, pushes for youth leadership
At a recent gathering, National Conference president Farooq Abdullah called for solidarity among all party affiliates. He strongly discouraged any actions that undermine the party's integrity and highlighted the accomplishments of the NC governmen...

The former J&K chief minister said that the ruling NC government has achieved a lot despite the Union Territory status where the elected government has limited powers. He was speaking at the mausoleum of his father Sheikh Abdullah on his 120th birth anniversary.
J&K CM Omar Abdullah along with his two sons and senior party leaders were present at the function.
"Your opponents will try to create difficulties in your path, but you should not be afraid. God bestowed you with success and will also make you successful in future," said Abdullah, adding, "I keep hearing that some partymen speak against the party in private and public. You should refrain from that and focus on strengthening the party." The NC president said that he could have gone to Parliament, to the Rajya Sabha but he wanted younger faces to go who could work for people and raise their issues there. "Our existence depends on the party. We are in government because we are in the party," said Abdullah.
He asserted that this was a time in the party when young faces would take charge and the party cadres should not feel weary about it.
The NC chief said that the party is treading this path despite several difficulties. "It is like walking on a razor's edge," he added.
