Anushka Sharma celebrates Virat Kohli’s consecutive ODI century with a heartfelt Instagram story

Virat Kohli continued his outstanding ODI run by hammering a second straight century against South Africa at Raipur’s Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Stadium on Wednesday.

The star batter brought up his hundred in 90 deliveries, striking seven boundaries and two sixes, taking his overall tally to 53 ODI centuries. Anushka Sharma celebrated the milestone by sharing a touching Instagram story with a red heart emoji.

With India holding a 1–0 lead after winning the opening ODI, Kohli’s knock could further solidify his role as the backbone of the batting lineup and bring him even closer to another series century.

Kohli entered the match riding a significant jump in rankings following his ton in Ranchi. The prolific batter has moved up to No.4 in the ICC ODI rankings with 751 points, surpassing Shubman Gill and sitting just 32 points behind leader Rohit Sharma.

Given his current form, the competition for the ICC ODI No.1 batter spot is heating up once again. Kohli last occupied the top position in April 2021, before being overtaken by Pakistan’s Babar Azam.

India saw other notable shifts in ICC standings this week as well. Kuldeep Yadav climbed to No.6 among ODI bowlers, strengthening his reputation as one of India’s most dependable white-ball spinners. Internationally, Pakistan’s Saim Ayub made headlines by reclaiming the No.1 ranking among T20I all-rounders after a match-winning performance in the tri-series final against Sri Lanka.
