Mamata, Abhishek Banerjee to hit the streets on SIR as 80,681 BLOs begin crucial house-to-house visits across Bengal

Kolkata: With the most crucial part of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the electoral rolls underway in West Bengal from Tuesday, and 80,681 BLOs starting House to House visit with Enumeration forms, Trinamool Congress leadership, led by Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and Trinamool National General Secretary Abhishek Banerjee, will hit the streets this afternoon with a mega rally in Kolkata “for the RIGHTS OF PEOPLE against the so-called Special Intensive Revision which is actually SILENT INVISIBLE RIGGING.”

The Opposition realignment on SIR is another issue which is awaited as Abhishek Banerjee has already welcomed Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin's decision to move court and noted that he will discuss it in the party.

Abhishek Banerjee said on Monday, " I welcome the move. I will have to discuss this with our party. People are dying here because of the Chief Election Commissioner - he has blood on his hands."


The mega rally today will be addressed Mamata Banerjee and Abhishek Banerjee, who will hit the streets “for the RIGHTS OF PEOPLE against the so-called Special Intensive Revision which is actually SILENT INVISIBLE RIGGING,” AITC posted in its X Handle calling all at the mega rally asking all to “join the historic Maha Michil and raise your voice for every rightful citizen,”.

Anthem for Mega rally
An anthem on protection of people’s rights for the mega rally, written by Trinamool Supremo Mamata Banerjee, and sung by Indranil Sen, has been released by Trinamool Congress. The song has been released by AITC in its X Handle and all other social media handles.

Talking about SIR, Trinamool Congress National general secretary Abhishek Banerjee cautioned people yesterday that “no one should live in fear or panic over the SIR, and no one’s name should be left out! Helpdesks will be set up across municipalities and panchayat areas in the state Our workers will be there to assist the people War rooms will be set up in every assembly constituency Local representatives will remain on duty The administration will provide necessary support to BLOs From the very first day of the SIR,”.

“BJP is organizing CAA camps in West Bengal. If you go to these camps and your names are enrolled there, you will meet the fate of 12 lakh Hindus in Assam. All of you will be similarly sent to detention camps,” Banerjee had told media persons.

The SIR Phase 2 House visit exercise is being carried out by the Election Commission (EC) will also begin in eight other states and three Union Territories from today.

Trinamool Congress leadership has written to West Bengal Chief Electoral Officer (WB-CEO) Manoj Agarwal seeking clarity on “outdated and flawed 2003 rolls are being used in Kulpi under the Special Intensive Revision process.”

“We have officially lodged a complaint with the Chief Electoral Officer, West Bengal, demanding clarity on why outdated and flawed 2003 rolls are being used in Kulpi under the Special Intensive Revision process. Why are flawed 2003 rolls being used instead of the legally mandated 2002 SIR rolls in Kulpi? When the integrity of the voter list itself is in question, how can citizens trust the process? This lack of transparency from the Election Commission undermines public trust in the fairness of the electoral process. Bengal will not stay silent when democracy is being diluted,” Trinamool Congress said.
