Veteran actor Naseeruddin Shah is once again trending online, this time, for an old interview where he shared some unfiltered views about Bollywood’s biggest stars. The video, now making the rounds on social media, has fans debating his remarks on Akshay Kumar and Shah Rukh Khan. “Only Akshay Kumar has impressed me”

In the resurfaced clip, Naseeruddin Shah was asked if he watches films of popular stars like the Khans, Kumars, or Devgns, and whether he finds their performances impressive. True to his candid style, he said:

“No, and I don’t even make an effort to watch them. I have worked with many of them but none of them have really impressed me. But there is only Akshay Kumar, whom I admire a lot, because without any guidance, or godfather and support he made his own place. And now his acting shows signs of capability. After having done it for so long, he has become a good actor.”

The remark has since gone viral, with fans applauding his appreciation for Akshay Kumar’s self-made journey in Bollywood.

“As an actor, Shah Rukh is becoming boring”

During the same conversation, the interviewer reminded Naseer that Shah Rukh Khan also had no film industry backing. To this, the veteran actor said:

“Yeah, and for that I have great admiration for Shah Rukh. But as an actor, he is becoming boring.”

That line has sparked lively debate online, especially among Shah Rukh’s fans, who argue that the superstar continues to reinvent himself with every decade.

Worked with both Akshay and Shah Rukh

Naseeruddin Shah has shared the screen with both actors in memorable films. He appeared alongside Akshay Kumar in Mohra, and with Shah Rukh Khan in Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa, Chamatkar, and Main Hoon Na.

Farah Khan recalls Naseer’s “moody” moment during Main Hoon Na

Interestingly, filmmaker Farah Khan recently spoke about Naseeruddin Shah’s brief role in Main Hoon Na on IFTDA Official’s YouTube channel. When asked about casting him, she laughed and said,

“That’s a very long story. Naseer will kill me.”

She revealed,

“I had first gone to Naseer to play the villain’s role. We went to many people for the villain’s role. We first went to Naseer and he made a fuss and you know how Naseer is… he is very moody. He said I can’t do it.”

Eventually, he took on the role of Brigadier Shekhar Prasad Sharma, whose death sets the film’s story in motion.

As the old interview resurfaces, social media seems divided — some call his comments brutally honest, others say the actor never minces words, whether it’s about cinema or stars.
