Vamsi reflected on the Telugu release, noting that he and Jr NTR had placed blind trust in Yash Raj Films, one of India’s biggest production houses. About War 2
War 2, the 2025 Hindi-language action-thriller, directed by Ayan Mukerji and produced by Aditya Chopra under Yash Raj Films, is the latest adrenaline-packed entry in the YRF Spy Universe. Serving as the sequel to 2019’s War, it brings together Hrithik Roshan, Jr NTR (making his Hindi debut), and Kiara Advani in the lead, with veterans Ashutosh Rana and Anil Kapoor in pivotal roles. The film follows rogue RAW agent Kabir Dhaliwal, whose threat to national security lands him squarely in the crosshairs of special units officer Vikram Chelapathi.Made on a jaw-dropping budget of Rs 300–400 crore, War 2 is one of the most expensive films in Indian cinema history. Released on 14 August 2025, perfectly timed for the Independence Day weekend, the film packed cinemas—but critics had mixed feelings. While the cast performances, action sequences, and visuals impressed, the story, screenplay, direction, and visual effects drew criticism. Nevertheless, it raked in Rs 364.35 crore worldwide, ranking as the third-highest-grossing Hindi film and fifth overall in India for 2025. The Telugu version chipped in Rs 56.74 crore at the net box office, proving that even dubbed versions can pack a punch.
