Bhojpuri actor and singer Pawan Singh is caught in an increasingly tense divorce battle with his wife, Jyoti Singh, as their personal conflict continues to unfold in public. What began as a private disagreement has now turned into a prolonged legal fight marked by serious allegations, emotional exchanges, and a massive alimony demand.

According to Free Press Journal, Jyoti Singh has reportedly sought ₹30 crore as alimony from Pawan Singh. The report quoted Pawan’s lawyer saying, “After so much humiliation, who will accept her now?” The lawyer also stated that any decision on alimony will depend on the actor’s financial condition and clarified that the court has not yet issued any final order on the matter.

Pawan Singh questions timing of controversy

Pawan Singh has alleged that Jyoti’s renewed public statements are politically motivated, suggesting they were made to coincide with the Bihar Assembly elections scheduled for November 2025. He believes the timing is intended to draw attention during the election season. Jyoti has not responded publicly to these claims.

Troubled marriage and past allegations

Pawan Singh’s personal life has been marred by earlier tragedy and controversy. His first wife, Neelam Devi, had died by suicide shortly after their wedding. In 2018, he married Jyoti Singh, but their relationship soon turned turbulent.

In April 2022, Jyoti filed for divorce, accusing Pawan of mental and physical harassment and alleging that he forced her to undergo two abortions. Pawan has denied all the allegations.

Cases filed in Bihar and Uttar Pradesh

The couple’s legal fight is being pursued in two states. Pawan Singh filed for divorce in Arrah, Bihar, while Jyoti lodged a maintenance case in Ballia, Uttar Pradesh. Both cases remain pending in court with no final ruling yet.

Jyoti’s claim of being denied marital rights

Jyoti Singh has publicly stated that although she was married to Pawan Singh, she was never given the respect or recognition of being his wife. Pawan, however, maintains that their divorce proceedings are already underway.

On the work front, Pawan Singh recently appeared in the reality series “Rise & Fall”, hosted by Ashneer Grover. Despite the ongoing legal battle, the actor continues to remain active in Bhojpuri cinema and television.
