The final date to register for Viksit Bharat Buildathon 2025 is October 11, 2025. This national-level initiative aims to encourage innovation, creativity, and problem-solving skills among school students across India.

Launched on September 23, 2025, by Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, the Buildathon is organized by the Department of School Education and Literacy (DoSEL), under the Ministry of Education, in association with Atal Innovation Mission (AIM), NITI Aayog, and the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE).

The event is expected to witness the participation of over one crore students from 1.5 lakh schools nationwide. While unveiling the Buildathon’s logo and theme jingle, Minister Pradhan stated that the initiative “will celebrate student-driven innovation, trigger an innovation renaissance, and empower youth to shape a Viksit, Samriddh, and Atmanirbhar Bharat.”


This year’s Buildathon revolves around four major themes — Atmanirbhar Bharat, Swadeshi, Vocal for Local, and Samriddh Bharat. These themes aim to spark creativity in addressing national challenges, boost self-reliance, promote sustainable solutions, and strengthen India’s image as a global innovation hub.

Important Dates and Registration Details

The registration window closes today, October 11, 2025, and interested students can apply through the official website vbb.mic.gov.in by submitting their project ideas.

Preparation period: October 6–13, 2025 – Teachers assist students in registration and project submissions.

Live synchronized innovation event: October 13, 2025

Final submission window: October 13–31, 2025

Evaluation: November 1–December 31, 2025

Results and felicitation: January 2026 – Top 1,000 student teams to be honored.

Empowering the Next Generation of Innovators

Building upon the success of the School Innovation Marathon 2024, which produced several student-led startups and patents, this year’s Buildathon aims to nurture future innovators under the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047.

School Education Secretary Sanjay Kumar emphasized that the initiative brings together “students, teachers, and innovators to create impactful solutions for a self-reliant India.”

The Ministry of Education and Atal Innovation Mission have urged all students from Classes 6 to 12 to take part before the deadline and contribute to shaping India’s innovation-driven future.
