Mahesh Bhatt calls Alia Bhatt's daughter Raha the pride of India: ‘She’s a crossbreed’

Director Mahesh Bhatt recently gushed about his granddaughter, Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt’s kid Raha. Speaking to Navbharat Times, the Aashiqui director said that Raha is the peak example of India’s diversity and confluence of various cultures. He also remarked that he felt that Raha would replace her parents eventually and make her own name.

“She’s a crossbreed, very special, and I feel that is the pride of India — the Ganga-Jamuni culture. This is an incredible country where so many cultures coexist together…” he said.

Ranbir Kapoor marked his 43rd birthday on September 28 in the company of his closest family members. The actor chose to celebrate the occasion privately with his wife Alia Bhatt, their little daughter Raha, and his mother Neetu Kapoor. To commemorate the day, Alia shared a heartfelt post on social media, dedicating it to her husband.


Her post included a series of photographs from their short family getaway, giving fans a warm glimpse into their celebrations. Among the highlights was a touching hand-written card crafted by young Raha, adding a deeply personal and emotional element to the occasion.

One of the photographs captured Alia and Ranbir standing close to each other, taking in the beauty of a glowing sunset in the backdrop. Another moment that stood out from the shared pictures was Raha’s card for her father, where she expressed her love and birthday wishes in her own handwriting. The final image in the collection showed a sweet father-daughter bond as Ranbir and Raha’s hands came together while holding a slice from a chocolate toy cake, symbolizing the innocence and joy of their celebration.

On the work front, Ranbir and Alia will soon be seen in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s period drama ‘Love And War.’ The movie which is said to be a loose adaptation of Raj Kapoor’s magnum opus ‘Sangam,’ will also star Vicky Kaushal.
