Larry Ellison's roller-coaster love life: 81-year-old Oracle founder's fifth wife is 47 years younger to him

Larry Ellison soared past Tesla CEO Elon Musk to become the world’s richest person for the first time as shares in Oracle surged 40% on Wednesday. A $101 billion single-day gain pushed Ellison’s fortune to $393 billion, ahead of Musk’s $385 billion, according to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index. Ellison, 81, who co-founded Oracle and now serves as chairman, owns about 1.16 billion shares of Oracle.

Like many others in the industry, Oracle has funneled billions of dollars into its AI investments. And for cost-cutting, the company has laid off workers and reportedly discussed eliminating raises and bonuses for employees this year.

Larry Ellison's love life

Larry Ellison, the tech mogul behind Oracle, has not only made headlines for his business ventures but also for his eventful personal life. With five marriages and four divorces under his belt, Ellison's love life has always been a topic of discussion.


Ellison married Adda Quinn in 1967, well before he rose to prominence as a tech billionaire. The marriage lasted seven years and was marked by financial hardships while Ellison was still navigating his career. Quinn later characterized their relationship as tumultuous, pointing to financial instability as a key factor in their eventual separation, as per CEO Today Magazine.

In the 1970s, Larry Ellison tied knot to Nancy Wheeler Jenkins. But the marriage was short-lived and it lasted only for a year. Interestingly, Jenkins gave up any financial claims to Oracle just before the company took off—something she likely regretted later as Oracle became a tech giant.

Ellison married Barbara Boothe in the early 80s, a former receptionist at one of his companies. The couple had two children together, David and Megan Ellison, who are now successful film producers. However, the marriage ended in divorce after just three years.

Ellison’s fourth and most prominent marriage was to romance author Melanie Craft. They tied the knot in 2003, with none other than Steve Jobs serving as their wedding photographer. Though the event was lavish and high-profile, the marriage didn’t last, and the couple divorced in 2010.

Since his last divorce, Ellison was reportedly in a long-term relationship with Nikita Kahn, a Ukrainian model, actress, and animal rights activist. The billionaire has been deeply devoted to Kahn, even naming a luxury restaurant in Malibu after her. According to South China Morning Post, the 80-year-old was reported to have separated with his fifth wife, Nikita Kahn, in 2016 and finalised their divorce in 2020.

Ellison quietly married for the fifth time too. He tied knot to Jolin, also known as Keren Zhu, who played a crucial role in his investments in college football, particularly at the University of Michigan. Jolin is credited with helping Ellison secure top recruit Bryce Underwood, a highly-rated high school quarterback from Louisiana State University, to Michigan.

Though there was no public announcement for the same, the couple was spotted watching sports games together with her many times since 2018, according to the Wall Street Journal. The Chinese native, who is 47 years younger than Ellison, was reported to have graduated with a bachelor’s degree in International Studies from the University of Michigan in 2012.

Who is Larry Ellison?

Larry Ellison is chairman of Oracle Corporation and chief technology officer. He founded the company in 1977 and served as CEO until September 2014. In 2020, Ellison moved permanently to the Hawaiian island Lanai, which he bought nearly all of in 2012 for $300 million, as per Forbes.

Ellison sat on Tesla's board from 2018 to 2022 and he also owns 50% of media giant Paramount Skydance, which formed after an August 2025 merger of Paramount and his son David's Skydance.
