Akhilesh joins Bihar oppn yatra, bats for Tejashwi as future CM
Akhilesh Yadav, Samajwadi Party leader, joined the Bihar Opposition's "vote adhikar yatra," urging people to defeat the BJP in the upcoming Assembly election. He endorsed RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav as the alliance's chief ministerial candidate. Yad...

Yadav also pitched RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav as the alliance's chief ministerial candidate for the state, something that the Congress and its leader, Rahul Gandhi, have been avoiding. Saturday was penultimate day of the yatra that had started on August 17, and it's concluding event will be held on Monday in Patna with a road show.
"We have defeated the BJP in Awadh, now you defeat them in Magadh", said Yadav, referring to the SP outscoring the BJP in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections in Uttar Pradesh. He was addressing the yatra event in Aara in the presence of Gandhi and Tejashwi Yadav.
Criticising the Election Commission's SIR (special intensive revision) of Bihar's electoral roll, he said, "SIR is a plot to steal your vote today and your ration and jobs tomorrow". He accused the BJP of having reduced the Election Commission to a "Jugad Commission".
Yadav said that "when Tejashwi Yadav assumes power", he will provide jobs to the youth as he did as the former deputy chief minister.
"The people of Bihar have also seen that earlier, youth used to migrate, so Tejashwi Yadav provided them with jobs and employment. This time, when Tejaswi Yadav will be in power, there will be no migration of the unemployed, but rather the BJP's migration is going to happen". Yadav said, adding that "the rule of Tejashwi will pave the way for development and progress for Bihar".
