Bharatpur man files FIR against Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone over faulty Hyundai Alcazar

Bollywood actors Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone, along with six Hyundai officials, have been named in an FIR filed in Bharatpur, Rajasthan. The case relates to a complaint by a local lawyer who alleged that the car she purchased from the company had repeated defects and posed safety risks.

According to a TOI report, lawyer Kirti Singh bought a Hyundai Alcazar in 2022 from Malwa Auto Sales Pvt Ltd in Sonipat. She paid an advance of Rs 51,000 and financed the rest through a loan. Singh said the dealership promised a problem-free car, but she soon began facing technical issues.

Customer alleges defects were ignored by the company

Singh alleged that the most serious problems were connected to the accelerator and the engine management system. She claimed the malfunctions put her family’s safety at risk while travelling.


Despite several complaints, Singh said no proper repair or refund was given. Frustrated with the company’s response, she approached the court for legal action.

SRK and Deepika named in FIR

Acting on Singh’s petition, a Bharatpur court directed Mathura Gate police station to register an FIR. The case includes Hyundai’s Managing Director Ansoo Kim, Chief Operating Officer Tarun Garg, and directors of Malwa Auto Sales Pvt Ltd.

Bollywood actors Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone were also named in the FIR. Singh alleged that as brand ambassadors, they endorsed the vehicles which later turned out to have defects.

Police investigation begins into car complaint

The Mathura Gate police have started an investigation into the case. Legal proceedings will follow based on the evidence gathered. So far, Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone have not made any public comment on the matter.

On the work front, Shah Rukh Khan will next appear in the film King, directed by Siddharth Anand. The movie also features his daughter Suhana Khan and actor Abhishek Bachchan. Reports suggest Deepika Padukone may also join the cast.

Deepika Padukone is currently working on Atlee’s upcoming sci-fi project, tentatively titled AA22xA6, where she will star alongside Telugu actor Allu Arjun.
