'Vote chori' helped Rahul Gandhi, Akhilesh Yadav win, says BJP's Anurag Thakur

New Delhi: The BJP on Wednesday alleged large-scale irregularities in voter registration in Rae Bareli, Wayanad, Diamond Harbour, and Kannauj - constituencies of Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, Abhishek Banerjee, and Akhilesh Yadav - and demanded their resignation from the Lok Sabha. The party claimed they won through "vote chori" and accused the Congress and its allies of running a campaign against the Election Commission to undermine the mandate of "honest and genuine Indian citizens" while compromising national security.

BJP leader Anurag Thakur, in a slideshow presentation at the party headquarters, flagged alleged voter registration irregularities in Kolathur (Tamil Nadu) and Mainpuri (UP), demanding the resignations of CM M K Stalin and SP's Dimple Yadav for "rigging" elections.

The BJP also alleged that former Congress president Sonia Gandhi was registered as a voter before she became an Indian citizen. "Sonia Gandhi's name first appeared on the rolls in 1980 - three years before she became an Indian citizenship," BJP IT department head Amit Malviya said on X.
