“Not just this, in these attacks, we have destroyed around 20% of Pakistan’s air force. The new normal of new India is PM Modi’s zero tolerance of terrorism,” he said, underlining the significant impact of India’s counter-terror efforts.
Speaking during the second week of Parliament’s Monsoon Session, Thakur noted the scale and precision of these strikes, part of the joint military operation launched after the Pahalgam terror attack.
Thakur made it clear that India’s actions are not impulsive reactions but part of a deliberate, strategic doctrine. “We did not escalate, we have neutralised with precision. This is not a reaction — this is a doctrine and this is the new normal,” he said.
He also underscored India’s resolve to act independently, without seeking external validation: “We will not wait for the world’s permission; we will strike with precision.”
“The Indian Army strikes the enemy where it hurts most — in their mind and on their map.” he added.
A fiery debate over the Pahalgam terror attack and Operation Sindoor unfolded in Parliament on Monday, with sharp exchanges between ruling alliance leaders and the opposition. The April 22 attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, claimed the lives of 26 civilians, prompting India to carry out precise retaliatory strikes targeting terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) under Operation Sindoor.
Since the Monsoon Session began on July 21, Parliament has been frequently disrupted amid opposition demands for a debate on key issues, including the Pahalgam attack and the ongoing Special Summary Revision (SSR) exercise by the Election Commission in Bihar ahead of upcoming assembly polls.
The opposition has also pressed Prime Minister Narendra Modi to respond to repeated claims by US President Donald Trump regarding a proposed ceasefire between India and Pakistan following Operation Sindoor.
