Rishabh Pant on the cusp of history ahead of third Test against England at Lord's
Rishabh Pant is on the verge of making history. He needs just five sixes to surpass Virender Sehwag's record. Sehwag has 91 sixes in Test cricket. The third Test against England is at Lord's. India and England are currently tied 1-1 in the series....

While Sehwag took 104 matches to set the record, the wicketkeeper has played just 45 matches. Meanwhile, former captain Rohit Sharma is second on the list with 88 sixes in 67 matches. With his natural attacking flair and fearless approach, Pant could well become India’s most prolific six-hitter in Test history during the upcoming third Test against England at Lord’s.
The third match of the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy begins on Thursday at the Lord's Cricket Ground. The series is tied 1-1, with England winning the opener at Headingley and India bouncing back with a dominant 336-run win at Edgbaston.
For India, Jasprit Bumrah comes back into the playing 11 on a possibly seamer-friendly wicket. Meanwhile, England have confirmed the selection of Jofra Archer, adding further firepower.
Pant has been in great form in the series so far, registering twin centuries in the first match at Headingley and following it up with a quickfire half century in the second innings at Edgbaston.
As India prepares for the all-important third Test at Lord’s, all eyes will be on the vice-captain, not just for his match-defining potential, but also to see if he can etch his name in the history books by reaching this major milestone.
