In January, the party had announced the election in-charges for 29 states for conducting the state president elections. The party has already announced state presidents in more than a dozen states. However, some key states such as UP, MP, Karnataka, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh and West Bengal are yet to get a new president.Union minister Piyush Goyal is the election in-charge for UP and the state has completed the election of district presidents. MP election in-charge and Union minister Dharmendra Pradhan is likely to visit the state in the first week of July . The new state president will be elected after his visit.
BJP sources told ET that the party is likely to announce the state presidents for more than six states simultaneously and the announcement could be made in a week's time.
