Delhi-Raipur IndiGo flight lands but door gets jammed: Raipur Mayor, Bhupesh Baghel among passengers left waiting inside

Passengers on an IndiGo flight from Delhi to Raipur had to stay inside the aircraft for over 30 minutes after landing on Wednesday because the door wouldn’t open due to a technical problem.

Among the passengers on flight 6E-6313 were Raipur Mayor Meenal Choubey and former Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel.

Door Didn't Open After Landing

Speaking to PTI, Meenal Choubey said the flight landed at around 2.20 pm, but the door stayed shut for over half an hour.


“When we asked the crew about the delay, they said there was a technical issue and they were trying to fix it,” she said. “After 30 minutes, we asked them to get help from outside. Then the ground staff opened the door.”

She added, “We weren’t scared, but after the recent Ahmedabad air crash, even small issues make you think of that tragedy.”

Bhupesh Baghel Also on Board

Congress leader Bhupesh Baghel said the passengers were stranded inside the plane for about 40 minutes.

IndiGo Apologises

In a statement, IndiGo confirmed that flight 6E-6313 had a minor technical issue which delayed the door opening on June 18, 2025.

“Following all safety checks, the door was opened. We’re sorry for the inconvenience and thank passengers for their patience,” said an airline spokesperson.
