When the King of Bollywood, Shah Rukh Khan, played Santa for Aamir Khan and gifted him an expensive laptop

Aamir Khan is gearing up for his big-screen comeback with his ambitious project Sitaare Zameen Par. This marks his return after Laal Singh Chaddha, which turned out to be the biggest flop of his career. While fans may remember the long-standing rivalry between Aamir and Shah Rukh Khan in the 90s, the actor recently shared a heartwarming anecdote that revealed a softer side to their relationship.

In a conversation with Raj Shamani, Aamir opened up about his so-called love-hate friendship with SRK. He recalled the year 1996, when the two superstars performed together at a show. Describing himself as “technologically challenged,” Aamir revealed that Shah Rukh, after noticing this, gifted him an expensive Toshiba laptop. Despite the generous gesture, Aamir admitted he didn’t use it for a long time, reported Times Now.

Aamir Khan said, “Our generation of actors share a lot of warmth and respect for each other. When Shah Rukh Khan and I were on the show in 1996, Shah Rukh Khan gifted me a laptop. I am a digitally handicapped person. I have an analogue person. He had told me that he was purchasing the latest laptop. I told them that I don't have a laptop.”


Aamir Khan further stated that he damaged the laptop by not losing it for four years. The Sitaare Zameen Par actor said, “He purchased the same laptop for himself as well as for me. He installed everything in my laptop and gifted it to me. After 4 years, my manager asked me if he could use my laptop, as it had not been used for a long time. I had completely forgotten that I had a laptop. When he showed it to me, I realised it was gifted by SRK. I told him to use it. That laptop didn't even turn on.” Well, Aamir Khan is very honest about his mistakes, but his revelation might leave Shah Rukh Khan fans heartbroken.

Talking about his next, Sitaare Zameen Par, the film also stars Genelia Deshmukh as the female lead. It is all set to release on June 20, 2025 in theatres.
